The scientists compared the employees who brought their dogs to work with those who had a pet but kept them at home. They then measured the levels of the stress hormone cortisol among these participants. It was found that the average stress level was nearly 11% less among employees who brought their dogs to office, while for those who didn?t bring had an increase in their stress levels by 70%.
There are no clear facts on why this happened, or how these dogs help in reducing stress at work, but one thing is clearly that it surely works.

From what I hear, Mr. Chewy is a pretty popular guy and many bloggers have met him already. ?But, if you don't know the basic facts about Mr. Chewy, here they are:
Site Layout
The site layout is plain and clean, with no advertisements and simple menus. ?From the second you log on to the page, you can tell that MrChewy is clear in their focus to serve dog and cat owners. ?I think the narrower focus is a good thing - companies that try to cater to every type of animal couldn't possibly stock a large array of brands and items.
They have lots and lots of different sorting options, ranging from sorting items by brand to sorting them by the form of the food (dry, canned, etc.). ?This is definitely appreciated, as there would have been NO way for me to navigate through the 70+ brands without sorting them all different ways as I decided what I wanted to splurge on.
I would have liked to see an option for sorting by main ingredient or protein source, but I accomplished what I wanted just as easily by entering "duck" in the search bar. ?Up popped all of the duck-containing products on the website.
The verdict? No major complaints about the site layout. ?Lots of menus for sorting things is essential when so many different items are stocked. I would welcome seeing additional optional sorting menus as well.
Product Offerings
Now, let's get to the meat and potatoes (no pun intended) of what Mr. Chewy sells. ?There is a lot of stuff on there.
My goal was to buy lots of different things to try rather than taking the easy way out and stocking up on Marge's or Layla's food. ?I was pretty successful in that regard, because of the six items I purchased, five were things I had never tried before.. mostly because many of them aren't carried consistently in the pet stores here. ?
After several hours of perusing (yes, I am a VERY careful shopper), I decided to buy the following products:
The first four aren't carried in the pet stores I frequent (and I live in NYC, for goodness sake, so I can't imagine my rural readers see a lot of these brands). ?The fifth is carried sparingly (and when it is carried, it's EXTREMELY expensive), and the sixth item I purchased with the last few dollars of my gift certificate.
Overall, their selection of brands is pretty exhaustive. ?They stock lots and lots of high-end kibbles, including Orijen, Taste of the Wild, Nature's Variety, and Wellness. ?I was tempted to buy and try a lot of them. They also carry some dehydrated raw products from Stella & Chewy and The Honest Kitchen. ?These are all well known, well respected brands, and I was excited to get to try them.The treat selection is endless. ?Zuke's, Natural Balance, and lots of gourmet/raw brands I had never heard of before. ?I left the site wishing $50 could buy it all!
Still, virtually every large pet food company sells this type of stuff.. so I certainly wouldn't hesitate to order from them because of it. ?I am a careful consumer and check the ingredients and country of origin of everything I buy for my pets, regardless of what site it comes from, and I urge everyone to do the same.
My verdict on product choices? There's tons to choose from, including lots of top-notch brands and a plethora of different treats, but I think Mr. Chewy needs to drop the stuff that's packed with corn and fillers and can be picked up at just about any store. ?Replace the supermarket foods with even more offerings in grain-free and raw diets and the site will have a much clearer focus. ?
Product Information/Options
I absolutely loved being able to read the ingredients of just about any product right on the product page on MrChewy.com. ?This is particularly useful for people like me, who own animals with specific diet needs (Layla, I'm talking about you!!!!). ?It allowed me to reasonably narrow down which products I was interested in buying without having to go to the company websites.The "Mr. Chewy's Recommendations" widget just underneath the product info was a nice touch, too. ?On a website so big, it can be easy to miss some of the products similar to the one you're looking at. ?In fact, I bought the Stella & Chewy's Chicken Patties after seeing them on the Recommendations widget while looking at another item.
There are also lots of reviews from customers, which a lot of pet food sites lack. ?I'm not sure whether this reflects positively on Mr. Chewy, its customers, or both, but I appreciated it.
One bone I had to pick with the website was that the product information itself was often incomplete. ?I, personally, would have appreciated being able to see which country each product was made in, since I do not feed my animals any products manufactured in China. ?I could have sworn that I saw something that read "Product of China" on one of the item pages, but I then never saw it again.
I also found that some products were miscategorized or incompletely categorized on the site. ?For example, there are some foods and treats that are appropriate for both dogs and cats, but I only found them under the dog food and treat menus, despite the fact that the product name clearly reads "For Dogs and Cats." ?I saw probiotic product clearly described as being helpful for digestive health listed under "Calming" supplements, which led me to not buy it because I wasn't sure exactly what it was.
Lastly, though I wanted to try a couple of different canned cat foods for delicate little Layla, I did not order any, because they only came in bulk sizes. ?I suppose this is part of Mr. Chewy's mission, to be a continuous supplier of dog and cat food to its customers (hence their repeat delivery options), but I thought it was worth a mention.
The verdict? I like the ingredients list, product recommendations, and customer reviews. ?Actual organization of products needs work, and I think the product descriptions can be beefed up a bit, with countries of origin added for all products in the interest of full disclosure.Shipping
I ordered my items the night of March 27. I received my order March 29. ?So, they kept their promise of quick delivery times - all for free (since, even though I had a $50 gift certificate, shipping is free on orders over $49).So, no complaint there whatsoever. ?I'm super inpatient about getting things quickly, so I was happy to get my order that fast!
The verdict? Shipping speed from PA to NY was very quick, as promised.
Now comes the really fun part - getting to try out all of our stuff :)
I think I'll use them occasionally for food and treat orders, especially because shipping is free on larger orders, since many of the products they carry are not found in all of the stores here (particularly, the raw foods). ?However, I don't plan on exercising their multiple shipments option, since I'm OK with going to the store if I need to in a pinch (I live in New York City, after all - the store's about a half mile away!). ?I urge you all to check them all out if you haven't already, particularly if you live in an area where some of the better brands might be hard to find.

ST. PETERSBURG, Russia (AP) ? For years, kopek-pinching Soviets sat down in a cheap restaurant in a former mansion of the nobility for plain meals, unaware of the treasure secreted nearby.
Workers restoring the building this week finally found it, unexpectedly, in a storage space hidden between two floors ? more than 1,000 pieces of jewelry, silver service sets stamped with the name of one of Russia's most prominent noble families, mirrors and brushes in silver frames. Many of them were wrapped in newspapers dated from the early months of 1917, as Russia careened toward the Bolshevik Revolution that ended life as the nobles had known it.
Friday's announcement of the find by the Intarsia company, which is performing the restoration work, excited the news media and sparked arguments over who can claim the valuables. The find is so new that experts haven't had time to inspect the goods and estimate their value.
The treasure tale touches on two of Russia's most renowned and romantic figures: Peter the Great and Alexander Pushkin.
The mansion was purchased in 1875 by Duke Vasily Naryshkin, whose family included Nataliya Naryshkina, the second wife of Czar Alexis and the mother of Peter the Great. The mansion had been put together by connecting two 18-century houses, one of which belonged to Pushkin's African grandfather Abram Gannibal.
After the Bolsheviks nationalized private property, part of the mansion was turned into a stolovaya, a canteen-like restaurant serving utilitarian meals, according to Russian news reports. Following the collapse of the Soviet Union, the building housed apartment, became private apartments, then was purchased by Intarsia to be turned into a conference and cultural center.
Intarsia said it would like to display the treasures for public view in the cultural center once it's completed; for now, they're in custody of the city's committee for historical preservation.
But who has the final claim to them hasn't been resolved.
Sergei Malinkovich, head of a regional Communist organization, told the Rosbalt news agency that his group will apply for ownership of the items on the grounds that the group is the successor to the Communists who nationalized state property.
"The essential thing here is that at the moment of the creation of the hiding-place, the treasure was no longer property of the Naryshkins," he said.
The state news agency, meanwhile, cited Ivan Artsishevsky, chairman of the House of Romanov in Russia, as saying it appears the closest relative to the Naryshkins who occupied the house lives in France, but that it was unclear if this person would seek the valuables.

It's been said of life that we are our own worst enemies, for the mindless decisions we make, as well as our frequent inability to learn from them. Nowhere is this more evident than on Wall Street, where this enemy from within has a way of making us too confident, too timid, too impulsive, and too staid - sometimes even all at once.
And so, for this installment of Investing 101, we highlight four key areas where your head can be the biggest obstacle to success as we tackle some dos and don'ts of market psychology.
Anchored in the Past
Oh how easy it is to pick winners with the benefit of hindsight. And yet, one of the biggest blunders investors make is the tendency to make decisions in the rear-view mirror instead of the through the windshield.
"There's always some big recent event that everyone anchors themselves on," says Russell Pearlman, sr. markets editor at SmartMoney magazine in the attached video. "These days everyone is anchored on all the bad stuff that happened in 2008."
Even though that particular fear, or any other fear may be valid, Pearlman says it has caused countless investors to either sit on the sidelines or seek the theoretical safety of Treasuries.
He's certainly not advising investors be cavalier about risk, but he is pointing out the pitfalls of paralysis, saying "what happened in 2008 should not be the be-all, end-all rationale for making an investment or not making an investment."
Confirmation Bias
This trait can be observed both on and off Wall Street and is perhaps the most pervasive mistake we make. As Pearlman says, "this is a behavior that all of us exhibit."
So what exactly is confirmation bias?
"This is seeking out information that confirms what you already know or want to believe," Pearlman says. Apple (AAPL) is a good example, given its meteoric rise and fervently loyal fan base. A mere mention of something critical about the i-Giant is almost certain to trigger an avalanche of counter-attack, rather than evoke a thoughtful debate. This mindset is dangerous and will ultimately hurt you.
The Thrill of the New
Perhaps it is our ever shrinking attention spans or simply the result of a growing stable of incredibly cool gadgets, but Pearlman sees danger in our infatuation with new stuff.
"Everyone loves new things," he says, "but that can work against you too."
The example he uses here is McDonalds (MCD), an unbelievably successful company and stock, that happens to also be in the old business of making hamburgers. The advice here is to be open to all ideas, not just ones tied to new things.
Overvaluing Experts
Our last mental trap that can trip you up is, in a way, a shout out to ourselves. At a time when more information from more places moves faster than ever, Pearlman says it is imperative that investors take some ownership in the decision-making process.
"We assume experts know everything," he says, "often in fields that they're not expert in."
This is in no way a slight to all authority or legitimate expertise, but rather a cautionary caveat to stay involved.

Congratulations to late-night host turned fancy emcee Jimmy Kimmel, the recently announced host of the 64th annual Primetime Emmy Awards. Although the September 23 live broadcast will be his first time hosting the television-awards show, the gig seems a natural fit for Kimmel, given his prior hosting duties for the American Music Awards, ESPN's ESPYs and April's always-high-profile White House Correspondents' Dinner.
Kimmel has six months to prepare material for the broadcast, which will air live on ABC, and while we have no doubt he and his team are already hard at work devising a plan of attack, we've come up with a few ideas of our own that we hope he'll incorporate.
A Trailer for "TV Movie: The TV Movie" One of the things we enjoy most about Kimmel is his ability to cash in on his close relationships with celebrities and how many of them he manages to involve in his parody videos or sketches — all in the name of fun, of course. Given the great success of "Movie: The Movie", a star-studded parody trailer for a nonexistent blockbuster, we're thinking he can work his magic for something TV-related: a mini-TV movie like "TV Movie: The TV Movie," for example.
Good-Natured Ribbing While Kimmel isn't known for taking stars to task per se, a la Ricky Gervais' brand of pot-stirring, he also won't let someone get away with being completely ridiculous and will find a humorous way to make light of a troubling situation. We'd like to see Kimmel have fun with the audience, particularly reality-show stars and his fellow talk-show hosts — many of whom are Kimmel's pals anyway.
Orchestrate a Show-Stopping Musical Number Who can forget Kimmel's amazing contributions to Great Viral Music Videos via "I'm F---ing Ben Affleck,", which was inspired by his girlfriend-at-the-time Sarah Silverman's instant hit "I'm F---ing Matt Damon"? Again, this involves calling upon Kimmel's A-list connections for their involvement, but if he can get the likes of Brad Pitt, Harrison Ford, Pete Wentz and more together for a revenge video, surely he can pull off something magical for the live broadcast of the Emmys? What we'd really like to see is a musical performance featuring Damon, Affleck and Kimmel all singing together.
A Second 'Meeting' of the Handsome Men's Club Make no mistake, there were plenty of handsome men in Kimmel's first video, but it's been over two years since we've seen the meeting of the Handsome Men's Club, and surely they're due for another get-together. We'd like to know more about what being in that club actually means and what these handsome men do together. Also, we're guessing they've added a few new members to their ranks, some fresh meat from "True Blood" for example, like Ryan Kwanten, Alexander SkarsgÅrd or Joe Manganiello? How about membership for Ryan Gosling or Michael Fassbender, perhaps?

KEY BISCAYNE, Fla. (AP) ? On the verge of victory, Roger Federer stopped playing when he thought a pivotal point had ended.
He mistook a fan's shout for a linesman's call, which cost him the game. Play continued for another 25 minutes before Federer finally closed out his opening match at the Sony Ericsson Open by beating 19-year-old American Ryan Harrison 6-2, 7-6 (3).
"I'd like to make it a bit more difficult for my opponent," Federer said. "I was just completely confused about the whole situation."
Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova, Novak Djokovic and Andy Roddick won in more straightforward fashion, but two-time champion Kim Clijsters was eliminated.
Federer led 5-2 in the second set and had a chance to finish in less than an hour until he lost two fluky points that extended the match.
Serving at 5-3, Federer blew an easy overhead to fall behind 15-30. One point later, facing break point for the only time in the match, Federer hit a forehand that landed on the baseline.
A fan hollered "Out!" and Federer stopped. By the time he realized the ball was still in play, Harrison had won the point ? and the game.
"It completely threw me off," Federer said. "It's the first time it has ever happened in my career. I was like, 'That's it? That's a break point? This is how this is going to happen?'"
Harrison took advantage of the break, although he said he felt bad about it.
"Obviously I want to win every point the right way, and not because something happened," the teenager said. "Unfortunately somebody interrupted play."
After Harrison held twice to force the tiebreaker, Federer hit a spectacular lunging lob to turn a scrambling exchange his way for a 4-2 lead. Four points later, he closed out his 40th victory in the past 42 matches.
"I felt like I had to win the match like three times at the end, so I was relieved to come through," he said.
Federer has a 77-match winning streak against players outside the top 20. Harrison is ranked 73rd but on the rise.
"He'll make his move up the rankings," Federer said. "He's a good athlete. I hope he stays healthy so he can show everyone what he's got."
The No. 3-seeded Federer's opponent in the third round will be another American, familiar foil Roddick. They've played 23 times and Roddick has won only twice, although he did beat Federer at Key Biscayne in 2008.
"There's no getting around the fact that he has been the biggest obstacle in my career," Roddick said. "His game matches up well against mine."
Roddick lost only five points on his first serve, never faced a break point and beat Gilles Muller 6-3, 6-2. Roddick is trying to improve a ranking that has dropped to 34th, the lowest he has been since 2001.
The top-seeded Djokovic, who won the tournament in 2007 and 2011, improved to 7-0 against Marco Baghdatis by winning 6-4, 6-4.
Williams started early and finished fast. Walking onto the stadium court at 11 a.m., Williams dominated with her serve, played consistently from the baseline and moved into the fourth round by beating Roberta Vinci 6-2, 6-1.
Williams was done shortly after noon.
"I'm not a morning person," she said. "I actually hate morning matches, but I always do my best at 11 o'clock matches."
Williams won most of the short points and a succession of long rallies as well. She hit 25 winners while committing 20 unforced errors.
Seeded 10th, Williams is making her return to tournament tennis after a two-month absence because of a left ankle injury. At No. 20, Vinci is the highest-ranked player Williams has beaten this year.
Williams is seeking her first tournament championship since August, and she's bidding for a record sixth title at Key Biscayne.
"I need trophies," she said. "I want to add more and to do more. There are records to break. So I'll do it. I've just got to believe it. I do believe it."
Sharapova, seeded second, beat American qualifier Sloane Stephens 6-4, 6-2. Clijsters, coming back from an ankle injury, lost to No. 23 Yanina Wickmayer 6-4, 7-6 (5).
Former No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki beat No. 29-seeded Petra Cetkovska 6-3, 7-5. Reigning French Open champion Li Na defeated Iveta Benesova 7-5, 6-2, and Samantha Stosur, last year's U.S. Open winner, rallied past Chanelle Scheepers, 2-6, 7-5, 6-2.

When most gamers think of Ninja Gaiden the first things to come to mind are gore and punishing difficulty. For fans in search of the former, you can rest easy. Ninja Gaiden 3 is as bloody as ever, although decapitation and limb loss are mysteriously absent. Players in search of the latter are in for a shock though. Despite a legacy of difficulty that stretches back nearly a quarter of a century, Team Ninja apparently decided to make the newest entry in the series a gentler, more?accessible?experience. The question lingers: at what cost?
Pre-release press made it clear that this would be a different game. Developer diaries stressed plot, character, and multiplayer over the unforgiving violence that the 
franchise had staked its reputation on. So, it could be seen as a bold step if the game decided to go off in a more narratively complex direction, perhaps at the cost of gameplay refinement. Strangely, this isn?t what has happened. Instead, everything has taken a noticeable step backward. The simple, effective storytelling is gone, replaced with silly attempts at high stakes drama that come off as cartoonish. The basic gameplay has been drastically simplified, removing a lot of its depth and complexity. The only identifiable progress to be found is in the arena of multiplayer, and the neccesity of such a feature is highly questionable.
Let?s start with the plot. After spending the previous two games seeking revenge, thwarting kidnappings, and stopping the summoning of powerful, ancient demons, protagonist Ryu Hayabusa finds himself aiding the Japanese Self-Defense Force in their fight against terrorists. Eventually, our hero is confronted by the admittedly intriguing figure of?the Regent of the Mask, who apparently causes Ryu?s Dragon Sword to fuse with his arm, transferring the pain and suffering he has caused into him. The Regent then demands that all of the world?s governments surrender to him, causing Ryu to spend the rest of the game trying to thwart this new enemy?s plans while dealing with his grotesque and painful arm.
While there are certainly glimmers of potential in the setup, the execution falls flat in almost every department. The idea of Ryu being forced to confront all of the violence he has enacted is pretty brilliant, but it never really pays off. Also, it?s pretty hard to make some sort of commentary on the evils of violence in a game that tasks you with murdering hundreds of people. Notice the word ?people? in the last sentence. One of the many disappointing things about this entry is how most of the demons and supernatural foes from previous installments are gone, simply replaced by terrorists, soldiers, and generic ninjas. Enemy variety is crucial in an action game that throws so many opponents at you, and NG3 is just lacking.?The biggest letdown is in the portrayal of the protagonist himself. Ryu was always an?archetypal?mysterious ninja, and while the attempts to add characterization are admirable, they just don?t succeed.
Of course, most fans couldn?t care less about the story or characters. Ninja Gaiden is about gameplay. However, as I?ve stated, the overriding design approach to this iteration appears to have been a focus on simplification and accessibility. Just listing the changes seems to speak for itself: there is no essence to collect, no store or currency, no?Reverse Wind Technique, no decapitations, no limit to your arrows, and a?severely?limited arsenal of both magic and weapons. Streamlining is one thing, but it appears as though a large portion of the essential mechanics have been gutted.
What?s left is a button-mashing hack ?n? slash romp that isn?t really bad, but doesn?t live up to its pedigree. Really, the nicest thing you can say about Ninja Gaiden 3?s gameplay is that it houses a few good boss fights, but that?s damning with faint praise when the majority of your time will be spent watching Ryu stab the same few character models. The operative word there is ?watch,? since the title often appears to just play itself, either with overly long cutscenes, long animations, or?unnecessary?cutscenes.
?Unnecessary? is another one of these key ?words as well. It can most appropriately be applied to the game?s multiplayer component, which is just as strange and out of place as ?it sounds. It?s not bad, just as BioShock 2?s multiplayer wasn?t bad per se, but it reeks of the same cloying ?me too? mentality that gives off the impression that ?the developer didn?t think the single-player could stand on its own. The actual implementation is decent; you customize a ninja and fight other people?s ninjas online, leveling up to unlock more powerful attacks and customization options. The fact that the people you?ll face online are (usually) smarter than the campaign?s enemy AI means that you might actually run up against some real challenge, but I doubt anyone will still be playing this mode in a couple months. There is a ?co-op? feature as well, but it?s really more like a series of challenges that can be undertaken simultaneously with someone else.
Honestly, besides the fact that every game seems to need multiplayer to justify its price point these days, I ?see the multiplayer as a platform for future?micro-transactions?and downloadable content. Team Ninja has already confirmed that the campaign will be getting some ?of the weapons it sorely needs as DLC, so it stand to reason that they?ll try to monetize the online component as well. It will likely start with extra costumes, but I?m curious to see if a lot of the options and variety that appear to have been excised from the rest of the game appear as paid add-ons. And, of course, an online mode means that the game comes with an online pass, meaning buying the game used locks you out from half of it unless you pay the publisher $10.
Pessimism aside, it must be reiterated that the game is still mostly fun in a simple,?Final Fight-esque way. Carving your way through legions of baddies can be cathartic, even
without raising the genre bar like the reboot once did. Speaking of said game though, it is sad to note how far Gaiden has fallen as ?a benchmark for console graphics. Once upon a time, Ryu had the flashiest visuals around, but now he barely stands out from the pack. The voice acting is as cheesy as always though, so if you enjoy camp and unintentional comedy, there is some enjoyment to be had past the meat and potatoes swordplay.
The fact is that??Tomonobu Itagaki is sorely missed. The people left behind the helm now are clearly aware of the things that make other action games?successful?quick time events, dynamic heroes, new features?but they don?t seem to understand how to utilize and combine these disparate tools into a unified whole. There is hope for the Ninja Gaiden name yet, but they?re going to have to go back to square one and rediscover what made people latch onto the ?franchise in the first place before it can overcome the mediocrity of this outing.

The threat of a military strike on Iran is preventing the Islamic republic from taking the final steps towards developing a nuclear bomb, Israeli Defence Minister Ehud Barak said on Thursday.
